Your exact itinerary in Azerbaijan will depend on the Caspian Sea ferry crossing, but the plan is to disembark the ferry and have two nights in Baku with time to explore the city. Included activities while in Baku are an audio-guided walking tour of the Old Town, exploring the Maiden’s Tower and the Palace of the Shirvanshahs.

From Baku you will head for Gobustan, near the coast of the Caspian Sea. Whilst here you will visit the ancient petroglyphs and the mud volcanoes that this area is famous for, wild camping for the night either near the mud volcanoes or further towards your next stop, Sheki.

Your overland tour then continues to the old town of Sheki where you have an included visit to the exquisite Khan’s Palace, and stay the night in an atmospheric converted 17th Century caravanserai (Silk Road hotel).
