DAYS 15 – 21: ZAMBIA

Leaving the lake behind you you will enter Zambia by Mbala border or nearby Mpulunga. This is a busy crossroads between East, Central and Southern Africa and home to the nearby Kalambo Waterfalls, the 2nd highest single drop falls in Africa. You will stop at Kapishya Hot Springs, a blue green lagoon surrounded by palms. Here you can soak up the remoteness of the hot springs or take guided or unguided hikes to nearby Chusa waterfalls or up Bare Back Hill – climbed by Dr Livingstone on his journey through Zambia.

Taking the Great North Road you stay in Lusaka for a couple of nights as you re-stock provisions ready for the next part of your expedition – the Democratic Republic of Congo (formerly known as Zaire).
